It's Rhode Island's biggest agricultural event, and it's a summer classic: The Washington County Fair, this weekend.

August is the perfect summer month in Rhode Island, with lots of fun activities still popping up all over the state. From the old-fashioned delights of the Washington County Fair to fashion sales in Newport, we've got the 5 best ways to enjoy it all.

Washington County Fair, Richmond

Thursday-Sunday  Owned and operated by the volunteers of the Washington County Pomona Grange, the Washington County Fair has been a great New England tradition for the past 47 years! The Fair is Rhode Island's largest agricultural event. Admission includes access to all daily concerts, special acts and events, the giant midway and kiddy land area (all ride tickets and games separate), all agricultural events and shows, exhibits and displays, tractor and horse pulls, the farm museum, and much, much more! The Fab Four Tribute at Summer Music Series, Newport

Saturday Paying homage to one of history's most influential bands, The Fab Four- The Ultimate Tribute has established itself as the 21st century Beatles. Covering the full songbook of The Beatles, this tribute band puts on a show fit for any die-hard Beatles fan. Come and watch as they play the classic hits of this iconic band including "Help", "Let It Be", and "A Hard Days Night" to name a few. $25.50 / $35.50 / $45.50. Gates Open: 5:30pm. Sunday It's a big tribute weekend in RI, as this original Beach Boys Tribute Band takes to the sands of Barrington for a true summer concert. 6 to 7:30 pm, Barrington Beach, Barrington. Free admission. 401-247-1925.

Tomato Taste Test, Bristol

Sunday   Late summer is all about tomatoes, and this delicious event at Blithewold will celebrate that culinary masterpiece. After visiting the vegetable garden to learn about each variety of tomatoes, you and your family will have the opportunity to taste each tomato, and place your vote for the best tasting tomato of the season! As votes are being tallied, you are encouraged to enjoy live music and a craft activity. Leo’s Ristorante will be passing out samples of delicious food items, made with ingredients from the mansion's vegetable garden. 1:30 to 3pm, Blithewold Mansion Gardens & Arboretum , 101 Ferry Road (Rt. 114) , Bristol.
