Roll in Providence

Saturday  It's an international throw-down. Watch the Providence Roller Derby, the first all-female, flat-track roller derby league in New England, that supports local business and outreach organizations, compete in the Double Header. The Providence Roller Derby’s all-stars, the Rhode Island Riveters, challenge Montreal’s New Skids on the Block, followed by a bonus B-team match-up. At both half-times, listen to the music of The Throttles. After the games, celebrate with the team at the Whiskey Republic and dance along to the music of The Criminals. Rhode Island Convention Center, 1 Sabin St., Providence. Doors open at 4PM, All-Star Bout 5PM, B-Team Bout 7PM. Celebrate traditionally in Charlestown

Saturday-Sunday  Celebrate with the Narragansett Indian Tribe at the 336th Annual August Meeting/Green Corn Thanksgiving. Check out antiques in Newport

Saturday-Sunday   More than 40 of the country’s best antique dealers will travel to exhibit their best antiques at the 2011 Newport Antiques Show. Paintings, furniture, folk art, jewelry, and fine and decorative arts will be available for purchase. Many of the antiques have Newport and Rhode Island connections. All proceeds from sponsorships and ticket sales benefit the Newport Historical Society and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County. Saturday 10am-6m, 11am Discussion by Dr. Ordonez, Professor in the Textiles Department at URI. Sunday 10am-5pm. St. George’s School, 372 Purgatory Road, Middletown. Call 846-­2669.

Glow in Westerly

Saturday  The Annual River Glow will feature 37 floating bonfires on the Pawcatuck River, fire juggling, face painting, live music, dancing, food and more. Free Admission. 7pm-10pm. Downtown Westerly/Pawcatuck River, Donahue Park, 1 Chamber Way Westerly, Westerly. Call 596-7761.

Party in Providence

Saturday  Foo Fest, AS220's signature annual event, will transform Providence's Empire Street into the largest gallery and performance space in the city. Foo Fest features 20 musical performances from the Greater Providence. Multiple AS220 programs, inspired individuals, and non-profits will present creative activities and interactive works of art. Local food vendors and bars come together for the best summer block party. $5 Admission. 1pm-1am. Empire Street, Providence. Call 831-9327.
