You've already got your red white and blue guides to Fourth of July-themed events statewide, as well as in Newport and Bristol, but there's more to this holiday weekend, and we've got five must-dos to fill out your days off.

It's a full weekend of local baseball in the house at Pawtucket, from taking on the Rochester Redwings on Friday night to a Saturday double-header and Sunday game v the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. Eat up colonial style at the White Horse Tavern
Monday
Newporters say it's more patriotic than anything in Bristol. That may be up for heated debate, but no one's arguing that this three-course, colonially inspired lunch at Newport's haute-historic White Horse Tavern is the most culinary inspired. Summer pheasant soup... grilled mutton (lamb, really) steak, indian pudding or Martha Washington's Fruit and Sherry cake... this is fare worth fighting for. Monday
It's one of the cutest things ever, watching batches of Rhode Island Red baby chicks gain their independence. Enjoy this rural delight on the lovely grounds of the South County Musuem.
