MythBusters: Behind the Myths Tour, Providence

Sunday  If you love watching Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman shatter your expectations on the Discovery Channel (and let’s be honest—who doesn’t?), don’t miss this live MythBusters: Behind the Myths show where they bring their unique “mind-blowing and mind-twisting” approach to science to you. Christmastime Stories, Bristol

Saturday  The Linden Place Museum, a Rhode Island gem, is getting ready for Christmas this weekend. Actor and storyteller Robb Dimmick will recite classic stories by Dylan Thomas and Truman Capote that get to the heart of the holiday—Thomas’s with its playfulness and Capote’s with its peacefulness. And don’t worry—you don’t have to be a literature buff to enjoy these tales. All ages are welcome. Whiskey Wonderland, South Kingstown

Have some whiskey with your Christmas spirit this weekend at the Sons of Liberty Distillery.

Friday  All of your local favorites are in one place—Cigar Box, Dave’s Coffee, The Olive Tap Providence, Sweet Cakes Bakery, Rhode Island Soapworks, Jennifer’s Chocolates, and tons more. The Sons of Liberty Distillery will be hosting Whiskey Wonderland, a local shopping extravaganza with free gift-wrapping, complimentary cocktails, and samplings of single malt whiskey. Geminids Meteor Shower, Charlestown

Friday  Considered by many to be the best meteor shower, Geminids can produce 60 meteors per hour at its peak. Bring family, friends, blankets, and lawn chairs to watch this beautiful natural display—you’ll barely feel the chilly air. Keep an eye out for the time—right now it’s TBD—and the weather. Holiday Toy Drive, Providence

Friday  Founded by Dropkick Murphys frontman Ken Casey, The Whiskey Republic is an Irish pub/sports bar hybrid that’s nothing but fun. It’s worth the trip just for the pretty view of the water, but bring a donation for Toys for Tots to get in on Friday! Bristol

Take the trip to Bristol this weekend to enjoy the festivities. Take a Christmas tour of Linden Place Mansion to see the lavish decorations. Holiday Pops

Go to see the world-renowned Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra this Friday, December 13 right here in Providence. The Orchestra will be performing their Holiday 2013 concert, also featuring the Metropolitan Chorale of Brookline at the Providence Performing Art Center. Theatre

Take a trip to Stadium Theatre and the http://www.ric.edu/nazariancenter/" target="_blank">Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts at Rhode Island College to experience the best in holiday theatre productions. Head to Stadium Theatre in Woonsocket for their showing of a holiday classic, “A Christmas Carol” Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Holiday Arts
