If you hadn't figured out fall has arrived, then the full-tilt ethnic festival season should be your giveaway. Rhode Island is rocking all its roots this weekend, and we picked four of the best... plus some vintage baseball.
Hit the water Dragon style in Pawtucket
Saturday This is one of the coolest, most colorful events all year, when fleets of Chinese Dragon Boats take to the Blackstone River at the Annual Chinese Dragon Boat Races and Taiwan Day Festival in Pawtucket. It all happens at the School Street Pier, off 114. Along with a day full of races, there's Asian arts, music, dance, crafts, and kite flying on the pier. 8am-5pm. Parlez-Vous in Woonsocket
Saturday Laissez les bons temps rouler at the 29th Annual French Heritage Festival at River Park in one of the great settlements of French Canadians. There will be French Canadian dancers, arts & crafts, puppets, food, and free historical tours. Great for families. Free. 9am-3pm.

Saturday Few things are as pure as old-fashioned baseball, and the Providence Grays meet the Olneyville Temperance Cadets at Ardoene Field (Narragansett Ave and Santiago St) to have a go at the old-style version of America's pastime. Get Greek in Cranston
Friday-Sunday Between the Pawtucket Greek festival and this one, you'll swear you're on the Aegean instead of Narragansett Bay. This is three food-and-fun-filled days of everything from baklava to icons. Rain or shine. Sponsored by the Church of the Annunciation, 175 Oaklawn Ave. Fri 5-10pm, Sat 12-10pm, Sun 12-9pm. Polish up your Polish in Central Falls
Friday-Sunday It's tasty, colorful, and it supports scholarships. Enjoy Polish and American food, entertainment for kids and teens, a beer corner, games of chance, and music.
