Rhody summer highlight CumberlandFest is sure to be a blast this weekend.

This week has been the perfect respite from the oppresive summer heat. But if you've been stuck inside instead of enjoying the mild weather, we've got you covered. There are so many fantastic events going on this weekend in RI that you'll have plenty of chances to get out and about. Read on to find out!

CumberlandFest

Thursday-Sunday  Don't miss the 23rd annual CumberlandFest, a celebration of summer complete with food, live music, carnival rides, a 5K road race, and even a fireworks display by pyrotechnics master John Ruggieri. CumberlandFest 2013 is run entirely by volunteers and raises funds for the town's youth sports programs Bring the whole family for this summer highlight! For more information, go to http://www.cumberlandfest.org, or check out CumberlandFest's Facebook page. Admission $5 for ages 13+, $1 for ages 4-12, free for ages 3 and under. Diamond Hill State Park, Cumberland. Thurday 6-10pm, Friday 6-11pm, Saturday 12-11pm (road race begins at 10am), Sunday 12-9pm.

Ocean State Summer Pops Concert Series, Woonsocket

Saturday  The unique Ocean State Summer Pops Orchestra will perform at the Stadium Theatre this weekend, featuring a repetoire of classical pieces, movie music, show tunes, marches, and other pops-style selections. Including members of the RI Philharmonic and Philharmonic Orchestras, the American Band, the Rhode Island Wind Ensemble, the Brown University, RIC, URI, and Fall River Symphony Orchestras, and more, the Ocean State Summer Pops Orchestra is the only one of its kind in Rhode Island. Tickets are $11, $16, and $21. 7pm. The Stadium Theatre, 28 Monument Sq.

Rhode Island Brew Fest, Charlestown

Saturday  Who doesn't love tossing back a good beer? If you agree, stop by the inaugural Summer RI Brew Fest this weekend. The event will host 40 breweries with over 150 varieties of beer for sampling. And if that's not enough, they'll be joined by Rhode Island's best food trucks. Not to worry, designated drivers: you can join in on the fun with complimentary water, soft drinks, snacks, and souvenirs. 21+ event, 1-4pm and 5-8pm. Ninigret Park. Block Island Arts Festival

Saturday-Sunday  Many local and regional artists will be selling their work at this annual outdoor festival. Browse the unique paintings, jewelry, knitted wear, and much more, and see if something catches your eye! Saturday 10am-7pm, Sunday 12-5pm. Harbor Baptist Church, 21 Water St.

River Glow, Westerly

Saturday  Enjoy 37 floating bonfires illuminating the Pawcatuck River at this family event. The night will also feature hayrides through town, live music, food booths, children's activities, shopping specials, fire jugglers, stilt walkers, life-size puppets, and more. Don't miss out on this chance to enjoy a beautiful summer night with your community. Free admission. 7-10pm, Downtown Westerly-Pawcatuck.
