Charlestown Seafood Festival
Friday-Sunday It's another great Rhode Island summer milestone. Don't miss this gastronomic extravaganza of Rhode Island's best seafood, lobsters, steamers, chowder, fish & chips, clam cakes, corn on the cob and a raw bar, as well as an array of all types of foods for every taste. Lots of extras, including amusement rides, rock wall climbing, car show, children's shows, bungee jumping, a petting zoo, and lobster raffle. Fiddle n Folk Fest 2012, Barrington
Saturday Barrington doesn't come to mind as a music festival hotbed, but this fun day of live outdoor music and folk arts might change your mind. The music features the fiddle prominently in most acts and a variety of folk music styles. Some of the musicians include the Old Fiddlers Club of RI, the Bluegrass Invitation Band, Bob Drouin with Rich Horwitz (5-string banjo) and Kevin Doyle (percussion/step-dance), Bay Spring Folk, Sundial, and French Roast with Michelle Kaminsky and Alan Bradbury. Visual arts and crafts, as well as food trucks. 1-7pm (rain date Aug 5th). Haines Park (near the boat launch), Narragansett Ave and Metropolitan Park Dr, Barrington. Friday-Saturday Get a little browsing or shopping done in one of the most lovely spots in the state--Sakonnet Vineyards and Winery. Friday's preview party includes food, complimentary wine, music, early buying privileges AND entry the next day ($40 in advance, $45 at door). Saturday antiques show features 50 vendors, $8. Cowboy Junkies in Newport

Family Night at Roger Williams Park Zoo
Saturday Enjoy a later evening with the kids (or make a fun date of it) at the Zoo this weekend, which is keeping its doors open late for a twilight adventure the whole family can enjoy. Watch the elephants at sunset, or take a twilight tour of Tropical America. Adults: $14.95, Children (ages 3 through 12): $9.95, Seniors (ages 62+): $12.95, Children under 3 and Zoo members are admitted free. Roger Williams Park Zoo, 1000 Elmwood Ave, Providence, 9am–8pm.
