Are you back from vacation? Are you back in school? Don't be blue… early Fall brings great festivals and events to Rhode Island, and we've got the five you won't want to miss.

Arts Marketplace, Pawtucket

Saturday-Sunday  A new and vibrant festival launches this weekend in Pawtucket, and it's a great addition to the RI arts scene. A juried show featuring the best of contemporary fine Art and American-made crafts not only showcases the work, but a gorgeous space--the newly renovated Pawtucket Armory Arts Center. Nearby Festival events will include music, demonstrations, and many other family activities. There is ample parking and a beautiful view of the Blackstone River from the nearby Morris Nathanson Bridge. Armory Center, 172 Exchange St, Pawtucket. 10am-4pm, free admission. Festival Guatemala, Providence

Sunday  The Guatemalan Center of Rhode Island proudly presents its 3rd annual festival celebrating the culture and family unity of Guatemala, with the mission of exposing local youth, the elderly generation, and other nationalities

It's one of the most fun and colorful days of the fall, when the dragonboats take to the Blackstone River.

Chinese Dragon Boat Races, Pawtucket

Saturday  Celebrate Asian heritage and culture with this annual event featuring unique and colorful Chinese Dragon Boats in a day long rowing competition on the Pawtucket River. Plus Asian arts, music, dance, crafts, and kite flying on the pier. Free admission. 8am-5pm (rain date is Sunday, Sept 9). School Street Pier (off Route 114), Pawtucket. Renaissance Wine Festival, Providence

Sunday  Indulge in hundreds of wines from all over the world and enjoy chef demonstrations, all right in the center of downcity Providence. An hour-long VIP reception to a limited amount of VIP ticket holders.  The VIP hour features exclusive premium wines, along with passed and stationed hors d’ oeuvres from some of Rhode Island’s best restaurants including; The Iron Works Tavern, Millonzi Fine Catering, and Tea & Javas. From 3:00 to 6:00pm, the festival will open to all general admission ticket holders. Polish-American Festival, Central Falls

Friday-Sunday  Did someone say pierogi? This wonderful fall festival is three days of Polish (and American) food, plus beer, music, entertainment for kids and teens and games of chance. Bring a lawn chair and settle in for the music. Free admission and parking. Fri and Sat 6pm-midnight, Sun noon-6pm. St. Joseph Church, 391 High St, Central Falls. Run Around the Block, Block Island

Saturday  Need an excuse to extend your summer fun on RI's most beautiful island? Lack up your trainers an shop the ferry for the 37th annual 15K run around the island. It's a rolling course with gorgeous views. Ferries will get you to and back in time, if you want to compete. For more registration information, go here.  To watch, just head on over. Race starts at 1:30pm. Proceeds benefit the Michael & Daniel Batchelder Memorial Scholarship Fund.
