Air Show at Quonset
Saturday-Sunday The 2012 Rhode Island National Guard Air Show offers top-notch aerial and static displays. To celebrate the 22nd anniversary, the USAF Thunderbirds will be featured on both days. Bead for Charity in Newport
Friday At Bead for Life Jewelry Fundraiser, learn more about a group of impoverished Ugandan women who work to lift families out of poverty by partnering with industrious women to make beaded jewelry out of recycled paper. Sunday The 8th Annual Antique Fire Apparatus and Equipment Show will consist of a display of antique motorized fire apparatus and other fire memorabilia. There will also be a vehicle extrication demonstration. For the kids, there will be a Fire Safety Smoke House for touring and Smokey Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog will make appearances. Hamburgers, hot dogs and refreshments will be available and RIAFAS souvenir t-shirts and hats will be sold to help raise money for the society. Glen Farm, 250 Glen Road, Portsmouth. 10am-3pm. Walk to Fight Cancer in Warwick
Saturday The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation hosts the The First Annual Esophageal Cancer Walk of RI. Help support esophageal adenocarcinoma, which is the fastest growing cancer in the western world. There will be great t-shirts and gifts for walkers. Chant Om in Newport
Saturday At the Yoga Mala, yoga therapist Liz Lindh of FLOW Natural Health will lead a session that includes music by whimsical art-rock band Castle. Arrive 15 minutes early in comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat. Ballard Park, Hazard and Wickham Roads, Newport. 1pm-3:30pm.
