Things are blooming in glorious Newport this weekend. Don't miss the annual Flower Show.

After a long week and a couple of crazy hot days, it’s time to get out the house (or back to the beach). Don’t waste it and enjoy this weekend’s activities for all ages at these must-go-to events…

The Newport Flower Show

Friday-Sunday  Enjoy the heat of Salsa—exotic plants and colorful designs, inspired by the fusion of Latin Music and dance. Feature guests include Derek Fell and Mario Fernandez. All proceeds from the show are dedicated to the ongoing restoration and maintenance of The Preservation Society of Newport County's 88 acres of gardens and landscapes. The festivities will kick off with an Opening Night Party featuring a cocktail buffet with Tapas and Tango! Rosecliff, 548 Bellevue Avenue, Newport. 4th Biannual Gardens By The Sea Tour, Charlestown and South Kingstown

Saturday  Love seeing the beautiful flowers around your neighborhood?  Get a behind-the-scenes peek at 12 coastal communities gardens, all new for this year. The tour will begin at the Cross Mills Public Library where you will receive a map and brochure to guide you through the private gardens. The Manhattan Transfer at Historic Park Theatre

They're as hot as ever, and they're coming to Cranston this weekend. Grammy-winners The Manhattan Transfer.

Animal Birthday Party Club at Roger Williams Park Zoo

Saturday  Party like an animal and celebrate the birthday of the zoo's largest inhabitants, Ginny, Kate, and Alice the African elephants. The day will include tasty enrichment treats for Ginny, Kate, and Alice, fun activities for you and much more. It’s not every day you get the chance to get an up close encounter with one of the world’s largest animals, so don’t miss out! Roger Williams Park Zoo, 1000 Elmwood Ave, Providence. 11am-3pm. Narragansett Art Festival, Narragansett Pier, Narragansett

Saturday-Sunday  Come experience a rare opportunity to see 100 artists from Rhode Island, New England and the East Coast featured at the Narragansett Art Festival. Their work will exhibit an array of styles including, oils and acrylics, watercolors and pastels, drawings and graphics, sculpture, photography, and other media.
