Nada Surf at The Met

Nada Surf is an alternative rock band and critics favorite since the mid-90’s. Discovered by Ric Ocasek of the Cars, the band is inviting some friends (Amber Arcades, Fields Drums, and Forest Fires) to a show at The Met dubbed “Friendstock.” Last February they released Hear songs from their new album, You Know Who You Are and more tonight at The Met. Tickets at $25 at the door – music starts around 9PM.

10,000 Maniacs

The band 10,000 Maniacs turned 35 this year. Original lead vocalist Natalie Merchant left the band for a solo career in 1993 and Mary Ramsey has been handling those duties ever since. They released a live album in June, Playing Favorites, which includes hits like “What’s the Matter Here,” “Like the Weather” and “These Are Days.” They’ll be playing a ticketed show as part of the Misquamicut Fallfest tomorrow night at 8PM. The Feelies at The Met

New Jersey alt legends The Feelies return The Met tomorrow night. If you’ve never seen them live, The Feelies are one of those great indie bands from an earlier time (late 70s-early 80s) who received enormous critical praise but never quite broke through commercially. If you like punk rhythms and REM style guitar grooves, this show is for you. Show starts around 9PM, tickets $17 in advance, $20 at the door.

Revolution Rock Festival

A major outdoor rock fest comes to Foxwoods tomorrow. The Revolution Rock Festival features a slew of hard rocking bands including Avenged Sevenfold, Chevelle, Slayer and Anthrax. Chvrches at Lupo's

Chvrches is a popular indie band from Scotland that has a built a following in the States since hitting the international stage in 2013. The electro-synth-pop band has seen their songs featured in video games, TV and movies including The Hunger Games. Catch up with them at Lupo's next Tuesday at 9PM. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 day of show.
