Supergroup The Rides Plays Lupo's Wednesday May 18
Classic sounds and new voices are among our picks this week on "5 Live Music Musts." First names not needed for two of the biggest legends in music history, Stills and Garfunkel, who are both visiting town with new lineups. We've also got a CD release party from RI's own gothic folk band Vudu Sister and a big name in the blues. Check out our slide show for all the details.

Vudu Sister at Columbus
Vudu Sister returns to the Columbus Theatre tonight for a CD release show. The newly released album, Mortis Nervosa, is a dark and delightful "conversation with the Grim Reaper" that explores themes of fear and death. It's a wild ride, with richly crafted lyrics and Keith J.G. McCurdy's Cobain-like growl prominently featured. Pixels and Bloodpheasant open the evening. Show starts at 9PM - tickets are $10 in advance.

The Rides at Lupo's
The Rides pull into Lupo's Wednesday May 18 for what we expect will be a really cool show. They are a bona fide supergroup led by twice inducted rock and roll hall of famer Stephen Stills, 5 time Grammy nominated guitar genius Kenny Wayne Shepard and Chicago bluesman Barry Goldberg who played keyboards when Bob Dylan went electric at Newport. Nuff said. The group just released their second album, Pierced Arrow, a blues rock celebration with enough Stills to bring you back to Woodstock. Check out the show starting at 8PM - tickets start at $42.50. (photo: Eleanor Stills)
