Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion will take the stage at Fete this weekend at the first of several can't-miss shows.

It’s an especially busy Friday on the local concert scene. Here are some great shows to hit tonight and beyond…

Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion

First up, head over to Fete to see an awesome duo with bona fide folk/roots/rock DNA. Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion appear on the heels on their new release “Wassiac Way,” produced by Jeff Tweedy and Pat Sansone of Wilco. The album, a pop influenced departure from their more familiar “folkie” sound, was recorded at Wilco’s loft in Chicago. Tyler James + Jess Powers begin the evening followed by the popular London band, The Melodic. Doors at 7:30 – Tickets only $10 in advance, $12 at the door.

The Allman Brothers

Also tonight, The Allman Brothers make their annual visit to the Comcast Center. The original “jam band” (along with the Grateful Dead), always puts on a great show at the venue where they once recorded “Live at Great Woods.” In their 44th year, they annually sell out over 15 nights at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, (rivaling local homegirl Taylor Swift, who recently broke a record at the Staples Center in LA). Tickets start at $39. Vermont hipsters Grace Potter and the Nocturnals open at 6:30.

Great lineup at The Spot

Go local tonight as a horde of several award winning bands play The Spot. RI bands Northern Lands, Torn Shorts, Dylan Sevey and the Gentlemen, and The YaBeautifuls will start up at 8:30. Tickets are $10 in advance $12 at the door. Now this is what we call a rock show!

Claude Bourbon

Also tonight, Sandywoods has acclaimed French guitarist Claude Bourbon. He plays “Medieval Spanish Blues,” a style that blends classical, jazz and folk. The classically trained fingerpicker is a virtuoso on guitar, and his voice has been described as “later day Dylan with a French accent.” The show starts at 7:30, tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.

Graham Nash

Finally, don’t forget that a musical legend visits RI next Thursday September 12th. Graham Nash, on a short break from touring with CSN, will be in town with his band. Cranston’s Park Theatre hosts another great show – tickets start at $46 – concert starts at 7:30.
