The Daughters
It’s a busy weekend at The Met starting with two nights of the The Daughters, a ground-breaking local band. They return tonight and Sunday after a four year hiatus – tonight’s show is already sold out; a few tickets remain for Sunday. Black Pus, California X, and Fantasy Panther open – Tickets for the All Ages show on Sunday are $13. Doors at 8:00, music starts at 9:00.
Dudesmash
Dudesmash takes over The Met on Saturday afternoon. Deer Tick and friends return for a great day of roots, rock, country, and beyond. The show comes in advance of the Tick’s new album, “Negativity,” which has been getting loads of praise in the national media. (It’s officially out September 24th.) The list of performers includes The Low Anthem, Johnny Fritz, and Joe Fletcher and the Wrong Reasons, among others. Get there early – show starts at 4:00 – tickets $22.50 in advance, $25.00 at the door.

The Pawtucket Arts Festival is the place to be on Saturday. The month-long festival features music, art, food trucks and much more. Get out there and check out Rocktucket, a celebration of local music. Over a dozen roots, rock and hip hop artists will be there – check out the web site for artists. Admission is free with a $5.00 donation recommended.
Lord Huron
Saturday night Fete has Lord Huron, the LA based indie band, named for, you guessed it - Lake Huron, where founder Bob Schneider wrote songs for their first EP. They’ll play a lot from their debut album “Lonesome Dreams,” which has received much critical acclaim over the past year. The Novel Ideas open at 9:00. Tickets are $15.
Rory Block + Carlene Carter
We’ve got “twofer” in store for next Wednesday September 18. First, head to Sandywoods in Tiverton for the great Blues woman Rory Block. The well known artist is one the world’s best County Blues performers. If country –roots – rock is more your style, head to The Narrows Center in Fall River for Carlene Carter, daughter of June Carter Cash. Get your GPS ready, find the fastest route and try to catch a set from both performers!
