Pearl Jam Plays Fenway Park This Weekend (Photo: Danny Clinch)

We’ve got a mid-summer assortment of great music this weekend on “5 Live Music Musts.” Start with grunge originals Pearl Jam playing two sold-out shows at Fenway Park in Boston. Move on to Mansfield’s Infinity Center, with a show from legendary rappers Snoop Dog and Wizz Khalifa tomorrow night. Tomorrow afternoon, its 70’s funk legend War (the Band) at Indian Ranch, and check out a couple of local shows starting with Von Donovan at Nick-A-Nees tonight.

Pearl Jam at Fenway

Perhaps the greatest grunge band of all time comes to Fenway Park for two shows this weekend. Tickets to Pearl Jam, now in their 25th year, sold out long ago, and are currently selling second hand starting at around $250. This makes it perhaps the biggest show of the summer. Snoop and Wizz Saturday

Hip-Hop leaders Snoop Dog and Wiz Khalifa will be tearing up the Xfinity Center tomorrow night. The “High Road Summer Tour” also includes fellow rappers Kevin Gates, Casey Veggies, Jhene Aiko and DJ Drama. The tour rolls into Mansfield Saturday night at 7PM. Tickets are still available here

Von Donovan at NickaNees

Von Donovan is another Providence based band that is playing a part of the city’s growing presence on the national scene. Their “post punk blues reverb soaked” sound is reminiscent of the Cowboy Junkies, Mazzy Star and The Cure. Check them out tomorrow night at NickaNees in Providence. Music starts around 9PM – no cover!

War at Indian Ranch

War is a classic 70’s funk band remembered fondly for sing-a-long hits like “Low Rider,” “Why Can’t We Be Friends,” and “Cisco Kid.” They’ll be at Indian Ranch in Webster, MA tomorrow afternoon for a house party deep in the woods.Blues great Jeff Pitchell opens at 2PM. Tickets available here. Head back to Indian Ranch Sunday at 2PM for that great “American Band” Grand Funk Railroad.

The Quins and More Fri.

Boston based The Quins will be headlining a rock show tonight at Dusk in Providence. Known for a pleasing mix of rock, jam, and soul with touch of indie-alt, the band will be joined by fellow indie rockers Most Dangerous Men Alive, Blackletter, Joe Sambo and the Goonz.
