NEW: Providence Named Top 25 Porn Capital by Men’s Health

Saturday, April 21, 2012

How smutty is Providence? Pretty darned smutty, according to Men's Health.

Providence may have pushed its adult entertainment district to the outskirts, but the capital city has just ranked among the 25 most porn-friendly cities in the country, according to Men's Health.

The new ranking of America's Smuttiest Cities just released by the popular magazine assessed the smuttiness of the 100 largest cities in America, and Providence came in at a pretty tawdry #21 overall--just outside the Top 20.

The porn capital of the USA

The smuttiest city in the country? Get ready--it's the home of the Magic Kingdom… Orlando, FL. A more predictable #2 went to Las Vegas, NV. Wilmington, DE, Raleigh, NC, and Charlotte, NC, came in at #3, #4, and #5.

No other New England cities ranked higher than Providence. Manchester, NH came in at #27, Bridgeport, CT at #57, Portland, ME at #59, Boston at #83 and Burlington, VT at #84. The most prim city on the list? Jackson, MS, at #100.

What makes a city smutty?

According to Men's Health, it "peered through a statistical peephole" to tabulate the following criteria: the number of DVDs purchased, rented, or streamed (AdultDVDEmpire.com); adult entertainment stores per city (StorErotica.net); rate of porn searches (Google Insights); and, for fans of soft-core, percentage of Cinemax-subscribing households (SimplyMap).

Yawn. The silly rabbits who came up with this survey don't even know about all the bathhouses and strip joints in this fair city.
