There is plenty going on around the state of Rhode Island to keep you busy over the weekend. From festivals to concerts and much more, there are events for all ages.
This weekend’s events include the Halloween Iron Pour at the Providence Steel Yard, Flickers Sci-Fi Fantasy and Horror Film Festival and the Barrel of Laughs Comedy Show at Newport Vineyards.

A Night of Networking and Beer Tasting at The Guild
Learn how Habitat for Humanity builds safe, decent affordable homes, volunteer opportunities available. Proceeds will benefit Habitat of West Bay and Northern RI.
Ticket Includes 1 pint of beer and tour of the facility.
Tours will be in half-hour increments starting at 6 p.m.
The event goes from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Barrel of Laughs Comedy Show Featuring Brendan Eyre at Newport Vineyards
Brendan Eyre is one of New York’s top up and coming comedians. His unique, laid back perspective on life has landed him spots on Late Night with Seth Meyers on NBC, Comedy Central, and various other national television shows.
He is also the cohost of the critically acclaimed Rad Dudecast podcast. He performs regularly at clubs and colleges throughout the country.

Flickers' Vortex Sci-Fi Fantasy & Horror Film Festival
A phantasmagoric symphony of international films blasts its way across the big screen as the Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) launches its 19th Annual Flickers' Vortex Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Horror Film Festival. In addition to its traditional spooky film fare, “Vortex” will showcase a wide array of sci-fi and fantasy cinema.
This year's festival includes a return of its popular H.P. Lovecraft Walking Tour presented in collaboration with the RI Historical Society, free after-school KidsEye programs, the Campus Connections program, which brings programming to area colleges and universities, and two free forums that look behind the scenes at creating genre films in the Ocean State.

Halloween Iron Pour at The Steel Yard
This family-friendly industrial art performance attracts close to 2,000 spectators from around the region, who watch artists harness the power of The Steel Yard’s custom-built tilt furnace as they pour more than 2,500 pounds of molten iron. The evening also features a variety of delicious food, as well as theatrical and musical displays.
The event goes from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Hope Street Farmers Market at Lippitt Memorial Park
The Hope Street Farmers Market is a farmer-run cooperative created and managed by many of the best farmers and food artisans in Rhode Island. We sell fruits, vegetables, flowers, cheese, breads and pastries, pasture-raised meats, seafood, poultry and eggs, and many other items that we grow, make or raise themselves.
The event goes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Glocester Scarecrow Festival at Pavilion at Kent Field
Locally created scarecrows lined along Putnam Pike on October 13, 2018, and remain on display until October 27. Over $600 in prizes given out for displayed scarecrows in 5 categories with awards given out at 1 pm on October 13. Prizes also given out for best human scarecrow, adult and child.
The event goes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Imagination Playground at Providence Children's Museum
Kids invent their own ways to play as they stack and build with huge blue foam blocks of all shapes and sizes. Using blocks, wheels, spools, tubes and a variety of loose parts, construct castles and forts, create interesting sculptures and more!.

Planetarium Shows at the Museum of Natural History
Show lasts approximately 35 minutes. Early arrival is suggested as tickets are sold first come, first served. Tickets are only available for purchase at the museum on the day of the planetarium show. People are not permitted to enter the planetarium once the show has begun. Show offering and schedule are subject to change.
Shows runs from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
