Brown Basketball vs Yale at Pizzitola Center

The Brown Bears men's basketball team opens up Ivy League play on Saturday afternoon when they host Yale. 

Brown went 12-4 during the non-conference schedule setting a school record for most non-conference wins. 

Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.

Fiber Market at Slater Mill 

Fiber producers from all six New England states are headed to Old Slater Mill for the annual Fiber Market.

Twenty vendors from all around New England take part this year, giving local fiber artisans an opportunity to purchase from the regions finest producers without having to drive long distances. Five vendors are from Rhode Island, with the remaining fifteen from out of state.

The market is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Providence Restaurant Week 

Starting on January 13 and ending on January 26, Providence restaurant week more than 80 restaurants from all over Rhode Island. 

Participating restaurants include Siena, Cassarino's, The Capital Grille, Chapel Grille, Circe Restaurant and Bar and many more.

Simply Chic Weddings magazine and the Quidnessett Country Club proudly present the 2018 “A Celebration of Love” Bridal Show.

Relax and speak directly to over 60 wedding specialists.

Stages will be set up throughout the Quidnessett featuring the latest styles of gowns, mother of the bride dresses, flower girl dresses and tuxedos. The fashion shows will be presented by some of RI’s top bridal shops.​

Total Lunar Eclipse at Frosty Drew Observatory 

On Sunday, January 20, 2019 a Total Lunar Eclipse is taking place and it will be visible to all in New England. This will be an awesome night and Frosty Drew Observatory is opening to celebrate the event starting at 8:30 p.m. offering excellent views of the eclipse.

A Lunar Eclipse happens when the Moon passes into Earth's shadow. This only happens during the full lunar phase. Since this eclipse will be a total eclipse, the entire Moon will pass into the Earth's dark shadow, called the Umbra. 

The event begins at 8:30 p.m.

Parlour Jazz Jam Featuring Daniel Hill Trio at The Parlour

For fans and musicians of all ages, the Parlour Jazz Jam occurs on the third Sunday of each month with a rotating house band, cool jammers, and a very appreciative audience. 

The January house band will be Daniel Hill (piano), Kyle Cotnoir (bass), Taylor Field (drums), and special guest Michelle Mybell Hill (voice) performing a tribute to McCoy Tyner and Horace Silver.

The event goes from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
