Nintendo Wii Tennis at Narragansett Brewery

Summer in Rhode Island is winding down, but there are plenty of things to do this weekend to keep your mind off going back to school. 

This weekend’s events include Brew at the Zoo, a Nintendo Wii Tennis Tournament at Narragansett Brewery, and the final home games for the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Benefit Street: A Mile of History 

Created in the mid-18th century “for the benefit of all,” this colonial thoroughfare shows off an amazing collection of 18th- and 19th-century wood-frame houses.

The tour itself is guided by docents and experts and tells a story that touches on the past, present, and future.

Italian Heritage Center Open House 

The Italian Heritage Center features the only photographic collections of early Italian immigration in Rhode Island. 

The exhibit features documents, photos and much more. 

The open house runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Brew at the Zoo 

Head to Roger Williams Park Zoo for Brew at the Zoo. 

Attendees will be able to sample over 100 beers from more than 70 local, regional and national brewers, enjoy live music, animal encounters and more at Rhode Island's largest outdoor beer festival. 

The event goes from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Gansett Open: Bancroft Up or Down Release Party at Narragansett Brewery. 

The ‘Gansett Open is complete with a full-on Nintendo Wii tennis tournament with very special surprise guests including the mayor of Pawtucket, Donald Grebien. 

Head over for music from DJ Haulin' Boats, food trucks, badminton, the Wii Tennis Tournament, and a whole bunch of Bancroft Up or Down Ale

The event goes from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Baggage at Newport Playhouse 

Two difficult, single people, Phyllis and Bradley, both trying to heal from their respective disappointing relationships, get their luggage mixed up at the airport. After a very disagreeable first encounter, the two decide to help each other get over their heartaches

Parents and children can join storytellers twice every week for the ongoing Story Time event lasting about 30 minutes.

Sams Mill Fest at Slater Mill 

Mill Fest is a free and open-to-all event, celebrating the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of manufacture, the arts, and creative enterprise of all kinds at the Old Slater Mill.

Head to Slater Mill for live music, food trucks, free museum tours, and vendor marketplace nestled between the 1793 Old Slater Mill, the 1810 Wilkinson Mill, and the 1758 Sylvanus Brown House.

The festival goes from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

3-Hour America's Cup 12-Meter Racing Experience 

Race aboard a 12 Meter America’s Cup contender!

Once aboard the 12 Meter racing yachts, professional, and friendly crew will coach those interested in a “hands on” sailing experience, but participation is not required. No sailing experience necessary.

Fun for sailors of all ages!

The race goes from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Stone by Stone: Geology at Watson Farm 

Well known professor of geology Roger Thorson will give participants a new perspective on the landscape, discussing its natural history and the impact of humans over time.

The event starts with an introductory talk and then a walk to view the rocks and stone walls.

The event goes from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

PawSox Final Home Game

The Pawtucket Red Sox will play their final home game of the season on Sunday afternoon at McCoy Stadium. 

The PawSox will face Lehigh Valley at 1:35 p.m. 

Pawtucket is currently 62-68 on the season.
