It is Columbus Day weekend and there are so many things going on in the state, starting with the feast on Federal Hill to comedian Paula Poundstone coming to Newport.

Stargazing Night at Frosty Drew Observatory in Charlestown

Every Friday until December 18 starting just 30 minutes after sunset take a look into the skies using powerful telescopes and see milky way, stars, planets and other amazing sights that you would not otherwise see. 

The stargazing goes until 11:30 p.m. and a $1 donation is suggested.

Paula Poundstone at Newport Comedy Series 

Paula Poundstone is coming to the Newport Comedy Series for the first time ever. 

Poundstone has appeared on HBO, The Tonight Show  and is in the new Disney Pixar movie Inside Out. 

Poundstone is also an American Comedy Award winner of the Best Female Stand-up Comic Award.

The show begins at 8 p.m.

Julius Ceasar at Trinity Rep

Julius Ceasar is a play about power, revenge, jealousy and control as Ceasar returns home after a war only to learn that her advisors want her dead.

Friday's show is a 7:30 p.m. show with tickets going for $25.

Visit the Haunted Labyrinth in Cranston

Get in the Halloween mood and visit the Haunted Labyrinth. 

The Haunted Labyrinth is New England's longest running haunted house, celebrating its 30th year. 

The Labyrinth is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 7-10 p.m. up until October 31st

Tickets cost $12 if paying with cash or $13 with credit card.

Scituate Art Festival

The 49th Scituate Art Festival is set to take place this weekend. The hours for the festival are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday. 

However, on Saturday the festival will have a live performance from "Kings Row," New Englands #1 Oldies Band. Their performance will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Clint Black at Stadium Theatre 

Clint Black is a grammy, ACA and CMA Award winning country artist and he will be coming to Stadium Theatre with his full band fresh off the release of his latest album "On Purpose."

Black will play his hits which include "A Better Man", "Like The Rain", "Killin' Time", "Nothin' But The Taillights," as well as many more.

Filled with great music and even better food, the Columbus Day Festival is a fall event to look forward to every fall.

The feast will take place on October 10th-12th and the parade will take place on Sunday, October 11th at 11 a.m.

What better way to spend Columbus day then strolling through Roger Williams Park Zoo and viewing come cool Jack-O-Lanterns. 

The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular returns to Roger Williams Park with thousands of illuminated pumpkins from October 1st to November 11th with admission from 6-10p.m. on weekdays and 6-11p.m. on Saturdays.
