The Bit Players Comedy Show

Go check out the award winning Improv Comedy  with The Bit Players at the Firehouse Theater on 4 Equality Park Place in Newport. The show begins at 8 p.m. 

The shows consist of fast paced, high energy improvisation similar to "Whose Line is it Anyway"

Every show is BYOB.

Bob Marley at the Newport Comedy Series

Bob Marley returns to the Newport Comedy Series on Friday at 8 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in Newport. Marley has been absent from the show for the last  five years 

Marley has appeared on Letterman, Conan, his own Comedy Central standup special and as Detective Greenly in The Boondock Saints and The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day.

Head over to Forty 1 North and see the 41N Culinary Masters Series with James Beard Award winner Michael Solomonov. 

In 2014, Solomonov was named the Eater's National Chef of the Year. 

The night includes dinner with wine pairings and interaction with the chef and costs $100 per person.

Tour of the Month: The Stamp Act Riot and the Road to Revolution

In August 1765, Newport was one of the leading cities of British North America experiencing a Golden Age of wealth and cultural refinement. 

Still, a group of Newporters decided to organize a protest that turned Newport's leading citizens against each other and setting the city and Rhode Island on path to rebellion against Great Britain.

Literacy Blooms at a Novel Evening

Chleck out the Newport Public Library on Sunday night for the annual fundraising event to help support the library, Literacy Blooms at a Novel Evening. The event will take place in a tent just outside the library.

Literacy Blooms at a Novel Evening will feature food, drinks, a silent auction and honorary speaker Bill Corcoran.

9th Annual Newport Independent Music Festival

Check out the Newport Independent Music Festival at the King Park gazebo features Zydeco music for dancing or listening with RI's own Slippery Sneakers band. Opening will be Newport vocal/guitar duo of talented singer Leslie Grimes with master guitarist Matt Bruneau of Big Cat Blues Band. Concert is weather permitting. 

Lawn seating, family and doggie friendly. Presented by the City of Newport, free and handicap accessible.
