Bill Lynch has lined up an impressive team in his race for Rhode Island's 1st Congressional District

His team includes Bill Fischer as general campaign consultant, former Democratic Party executive director Tim Grilo as campaign manager, top Rhody fundraiser Amy Gabarra as his fundraiser-in-chief, former Obama pollster Stefan Hanik as pollster and Jennifer Burton, of Envision Communications, as the media consultant.  And, in the all-important money race (how you pay for field staff and TV time), Lynch reported an underwhelming, yet competent $210k raised in the first quarter, including a $100k loan from himself.

(1) Can Bill translate years of service as the party chair into boots-on-the-ground political clout or will his years of partisan rancor box him into being a political insider in an unpopular year for insiders?

(2) Does having his brother Patrick on the ballot as a gubernatorial candidate confuse voters and help or hurt Bill's campaign?

(3) How does he define his political ideology in contrast to Cicilline - to the left or to the right?

(4) Will Pawtucket voters - representing 13% of the turnout in this race - come out en masse for Lynch?

(5) Can he raise the $750k - $1 million that he needs to win this race?

With a primary date of September 14 looming on the horizon, we will soon know the answers!
