Hendricken’s Meehan, Prout’s Caswell Big Winners at RI Sports Awards

Bishop Hendricken’s Ryan Meehan and Prout’s Emily Caswell took home Athlete of the Year awards at Cox RI Sports Awards Presented by the RI National Guard. Meehan earned All State honors in both cross country and track, while Caswell was a standout in volleyball, basketball and softball.

Other notable honorees include Steve McDonald, who receiving the inaugural Ben Mondor award and University of Virginia Lacrosse player Colin Briggs, who was named Collegiate Athlete of the Year.

Hendricken football coach Keith Croft left with Coach of the Year award, while this years Cinderella, Tiverton basketball team was named Team of The Year.

Top scholar athletes from Woonsocket to Westerly were also honored at the event.
