Teddy Fenton led the state in assists last season as a freshman at Mount St. Charles.

Three Rhode Island kids will represent the state at the National U-15 Lacrosse Tournament at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., starting on Friday, July 27.

The tournament will feature some of the best teams from all across America, and will begin with pool play on Friday before the single-elimination tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

Brotherly Connection

Brothers Matt and Joe Manown will both be playing for 3D Lacrosse, which is a select team that is based in Colorado and features some of the best players from across the nation. Teddy Fenton of Woonsocket is playing for the California-based DH Lax.

Joe Manown was a freshman at La Salle last season, and was off to a promising start before breaking his collarbone in a game on May 9.

Despite the setback, Manown has done plenty to impress coaches at some of the top college programs in the nation.

Virginia, Brown, Penn State, Harvard, and North Carolina have all expressed interest in the attacker.

"Joey is a spectacular player," said New England 3D director Dave Jenkins. "He's a tough kid, he goes hard to the net, and he's a very good finisher. He's got it all right now."

Brother Matt was in eighth grade last year, playing for Wickford Middle School. "Matt's the same way as his brother," Jenkins said. "He's smaller, but will never hesitate to get in the mix with people twice his size."

3D opens up the tournament with games against teams from Florida and California on Friday.

DH Lax Elite is coached by Kyle Harrison, who was a three-time All-American and 2005 Tewaarton trophy winner at Johns Hopkins University.

Fenton, who played for Mount St. Charles as a freshman last season, led the state in assists and finished fourth in points (55).

Mount St. Charles head coach Doug Allen said that Fenton was one of the key reasons why the Mounties possessed one of the most explosive offenses in the state.

"Teddy is such a creative player," Allen said. "His ability to think on his feet is what makes the difference. A lot of teams run set plays..but we were able to run our offense fluidly through [him]."

The tournament runs through Sunday, July 29.
