Game On: Ricky Ledo Transferring to Notre Dame Prep
Thursday, January 20, 2011
ESPN RISE says Ricardo Ledo is “quick off the bounce,” but must develop a “more consistent sense of urgency” to his game. Apparently, Ricky Ledo has built on his strengths and taken to heart his weaknesses, because the Providence native is fast on the move.
On Wednesday, Ledo arrived at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, MA, touching down after stops at Bishop Hendricken, St. Andrews, and most recently, South Kent Prep. For the junior basketball prospect, this will be his fourth high school, feeding his reputation as an “elusive” talent.
If the 6’6 shooting guard (ranked #3 in the ESPN RISE national position rankings for SG) ever arrives at Providence College – where he verbally committed to play in December – the Friars will have to find Ledo in baggage claim. For a “can’t miss” prospect, Ledo is becoming harder and harder to track down.
As a reason for his latest transfer from South Kent, Ledo cited an inability to visit his parents and grandparents, who live in Providence. South Kent’s weekend classes prevented frequent trips home, which didn’t sit well with Ledo. Not to worry – Ledo has collected plenty of Amtrak doggy bags along the way to help with his homesickness.
