How was the transition from being a high school athlete to becoming an athlete in college?

The transition was fairly easy since I had visited Wellesley many times and I knew my team and coach pretty well. I was also able to bond quickly with the other first-year runners on my team during pre-season. There was definitely an increase in training when I came to college, but that just made me feel like I was improving as an athlete.

What do you miss most about playing in high school?

The thing that I miss most about running in high school is my team. Although I love my new team at Wellesley, I fell in love with running at PCD alongside my high school teammates. I also miss running up and down the hills in Providence.

What is your biggest challenge as a college athlete?

My biggest challenge as a college athlete is getting enough sleep! While homework assignments demand that I stay up late to finish philosophy reading, or an environmental studies project, my running career also demands that I get decent nights sleep.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of your athletic career?

The most rewarding part of my athletic career thus far is my success in track. I didn't run track in high school, but I tried it in college because my coach thought that I would be a decent miler. I ended up going to nationals in the mile, placing third, and earning All-American honors. I have been to nationals every year, in every season (cross-country, indoor track, and outdoor track) and I have earned All-American honors twice. I look forward to improving even more and I am excited for the rest of my running career!
