Raising happy, healthy kids in a world with wars and devastation can be a challenge, which is why Bradley Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital have come together to create a program that helps explain it all. The goal of Speaking of Kids is to provide parents and caregivers with tools that can help them raise little ones to teens in an encouraging environment while listening to their questions and fears.

Two Programs, One Goal

The first presentation, “Begin with the Strengths: Improving Communication in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder,” on April 14th will be presented by Kathryn A. Sirr, M.S., CCC-SLP and Clinical Specialist, and Lauren J. Hummel, Ph.D., CCC-SLP. The second, “Managing Difficult Behavior in Teens,” will be led by Kim Waggoner, LICSW and Gary Regan, LICSW on May 19th.

To Go

Speaking of Kids programs are free and open to the public, are from 7-9pm and will take place at the Showcase Cinema in Warwick. Professional credits are available for nurses, social workers and child care providers at a cost of $10. To register, call the Lifespan Health Connection at 401-444-4800 or 1-800-927-1230.
