Winter Wine Festival Coming to Federal Hill

Monday, January 30, 2012

Warm up your chilly Monday tonight with the 1st Winter Wine Festival at Blush.

You can never have too much wine, and Providence now gets to welcome the latest wine festival to the scene: the 1st Annual Winter Wine Festival, which will make its debut today, January 30.

The four-hour sampling of more than 30 wines and sparkling varietals from around the world will take place at Blush Winebar, on Federal Hill.

This is a ticketed event and will be closed to the public, so interested tasters should hop online and go here for tickets.  Blush promises that the event is informal, offering guests an opportunity to sample fine wines and cuisine, as well as learn a bit about the fine wines offered on Blush Winebar's Winter Wine List. And on a Monday!

The wines chosen for the day include red, white, sparkling and non sparkling wines from Rhode Island, Italy, South Africa, New Zealand, California, Washington, Oregon, among other locales.  Blush's executive chef Jacen Scungio will prepare hors d'oeuvres to pair with the selections.

In all, it's a perfect way to turn a Monday into a holiday. And warm up a little in the dead of winter.

1st Annual Winter Wine Festival, Blush Winebar, 332 Atwells Ave, Providence. Monday Jan 30, 4-8pm, Tickets are limited. $35 per person. Order tickets here.
