UPDATE: Providence Renaissance Wine Festival This Sunday

Bella Consulting & Events rode out the hurricane and is back this Sunday, September 11, with its rescheduled 7th Annual Renaissance Wine Festival.
The event will still take place at the Bank of America City Center located at 2 Kennedy Plaza in the heart of downcity Providence. Following a Renaissance inspired theme, the outdoor space will be tented and the event will be transformed into a wine lover’s paradise with décor from Verity Design.
New for 2011: The Rhode Island Kitchen & Bath cooking demonstration stage area
The demonstration tent will feature chefs from some Rhode Island's and Connecticut’s newest and most popular restaurants. Chefs joining the Renaissance Wine Festival on the demonstration stage are: Executive Chef Gianfranco Campanella of Amici Bar & Grille at 2:25pm, Executive Chef Kevin Scott of Shrine Asian Kitchen & Lounge at 3:25pm, Executive Chef Domenic Ierfino of Trattoria Roma at 4:25pm and Executive Chef Kevin Millonzi of Millonzi Fine Catering at 5:25pm. Chef Demonstrations will feature 20-minute how-to sessions on specialties of each restaurant and recipe instructions for each guest. Look forward to selections such as Lavender Laquered Poached Maine Lobster Tail with baby Mizuno, and silver corn and local heirloom salad with aged balsamic browned butter vinaigrette.

Hundreds of wines from some of the most prestigious wineries across the globe will be sampled throughout the day. Some of the featured selections include the La Mozza Winery founded by Chef Mario Batali, Maison Louis Latour, Zaccagnini of Italy, Mionetto Proseccos such as Il Moscato and Mionetto Brut, Aviva Vino of Spain, Cigar Box Wines, Cabernet, Malbec and Sauvignon Blanc David Bruce, Toad Hollow and much more.

In addition to the fine wine and entertainment, guests will have an opportunity to bid on silent auction packages to benefit Junior Achievement of Rhode Island, shop for bangles from the Alex and Ani Bangle Bar, purchase various wine-inspired items, and view Art work from Galleries of Federal Hill.
The festival kicks off at two o’clock with an hour-long VIP reception featuring exclusive premium wines with the tasting tent open to only a limited amount of VIP ticket holders. The VIP reception will feature hors d'oeuvres from local favorites including The Iron Works Tavern, Millonzi Fine Catering, Blush Wine Bar, Tratorria Roma and Amici Bar & Grille. From 3:00 to 6:00pm, the festival will open to all general admission ticket holders. Throughout the day, Kirk Feather Trio and the Mary Andrews Trios will keep everyone in the mood.
