RI Farm Scavenger Hunt
Monday, July 04, 2011
What better combination for a summer pursuit than an old-fashioned scavenger hunt fueled by the freshest food in the state of Rhode Island?
This was the agricultural inspiration behind the Rhode Island Farm Scavenger Hunt, an annual event created by the Rhode Island Fruit Growers Association that invites locavores to make their way through 24 of the state's farms and orchards this season. You don't have to buy any fresh produce to play, but once you're there, we challenge you not to.
Here's how it goes. Pick up a game board (pictured here) at any Rhode Island visitor's center, chamber of commerce, or participating farmstands or farmer's markets. Hit each of the farms and orchards and look at the picture of that farm on the map. Find the location picture, and you'll score a sticker showing you've found it.

On with the hunting and gathering.
