This really is a great way to take a bite out of winter, and do it for incredibly cheap.

Providence is hosting its first-ever Winter Restaurant Weeks from January 23-29, and more than 65 restaurants have signed on.This is golden news for food lovers statewide, who should mark their calendars for multiple days and nights of feasting on a dime.

All week, you can get special three-course prix-fixe lunches for $12.95 per person, and dinners for $29.95. Marquis eateries including Chez Pascal, Gracie's, La Laiterie, Bacaro, and Cook & Brown Public House are on the list, as well as Italian powerhouses Blue Grotto, Il Piccolo, Siena, and Pizzico. Steak lovers can spend the week hitting The Capital Grille, Fleming's, Providence Prime Steakhouse, Ten Prime Steak and Sushi, and Ruth's Chris.

Added bonus: several restaurants will be offering 2-1 dinner deals, including the iconic Angelo's Civita Farnese, Bravo Brassere, Caffe Dolce Vita, McFadden's Restaurant & Saloon, The Red Fez, Red Stripe, and Rick's Roadhouse.
