Friday, March 21, 2014

The Chanler, the award-winning Newport hotel, will host the latest edition of its Tasting Series program this Sunday from 1pm - 4pm at its Spiced Pear Restaurant. Similar to past tastings, the upcoming event involves liquor and wine experts from all over the world spending an afternoon eating, drinking and teaching with an intimate group of participants. Sunday's event, titled "Taste of Southeastern New England,” will include eight courses with eight wine pairings featuring wineries from Southeastern New England wineries and cuisine from The Chanler's Spiced Pear Executive Chef Thomas Duffy. Tickets are $95 per person. For more information, click here.

Sunday's festivities will be the second of seven scheduled tastings this year. The series' next tasting, titled "Taste of the Pacific Northwest," will take place April 27. To view a full listing of the Chanler's Tasting Series 2014, click here.

The Chanler offers twenty guest rooms, each with its own historically inspired decor. Dining options include the award-winning Spiced Pear restaurant for award-winning and the ocean-side outdoor Terrace restaurant, for a casual oceanfront Newport restaurant. Known for its signature "New England Tasting Menu," the Spiced Pear’s primary dining room features an open-air kitchen, grand fireplace, and views of the Atlantic Ocean and Easton’s Beach.
