Food Network Star Giada De Laurentiis Spent This Independence Day Weekend in Newport
Monday, July 06, 2015
Back in April 6, 2007 she filmed an episode of Giada's Weekend Getaways in Newport. In the episode she goes on an exciting food-filled weekend adventure in and around Newport which includes a scooter ride for frozen lemonade, a courtside lobster roll, clambake, and a Newport-style “bag of doughnuts”.
For the episode she traveled to seven restaurants in and around Newport, and to finish off the trip in the most Rhode Island way possible, Giada goes to Dell’s Lemonade in Cranston for a classic Rhode Island specialty.
During the episode she visited Cold Fusion Handmade Artisan Gelato & Sorbet, Newport Vineyards, The Coffee Grinder, The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar, La Forge Casino Restaurant, and McGrath Clambakes.
The recipes from the episode were Clam Chowder made from the special Mooring Restaurant’s recipe and the Crispy Salmon with Mushroom Orzo and Red Wine Sauce courtesy of the Asterisk Restaurant.
