NEW: Federal Hill’s Mediterraneo Caffe Celebrates 14 Years
Monday, March 14, 2011
Mediterraneo Caffe, Federal Hill’s well-known restaurant, marks its 14th anniversary this month with a party open to the public tonight, Monday.
Stop by from 5:30-7:30pm tonight for free food and drink, at 134 Atwells Avenue, in Providence.
The restaurant feels like crowing. The restaurant business is a tough industry to survive in, and Mediterraneo's owners Gianfranco Marrocco, Nino Marrocco, and Fabio Potenti, hoped that a combination of authentic Italian cuisine, tight service, and will would allow their restaurant to flourish for decades.
Popular dishes that have put Mediterraneo on the map over the years include their Crostini con Portobello a Manzo appetizer which consists of grilled Tuscan bread topped with a grilled Portobello mushroom and pan seared tenderloin tips in a Medeira wine and fresh thyme cream sauce. One of their famous pasta dishes is the Canneloni Al Forno. Large pasta tubes made from fresh sheets of lasagne stuffed with ricotta, spinach and shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese then baked in a taditional Bolognese meat sauce with béchamel and fresh mozzarella make this a delicious Italian dish!
Join in the tasty celebration on Federal Hill tonight.
