While Cinco de Mayo may not be the biggest holiday in Mexico, it's a great day to hang your hat on some festive celebrating (and margaritas). Here's some great spots and events to ole the day (and night) away...

Big Bar Bashes

May 5th is a built-in night for bars to pump up the volume and pour the margaritas. Ladder 133 has a Cinco de Mayo Bash tomorrow night that features a Corona Promo featuring 5 beers for just $15 from 9-11pm, a specialty Mexican food menu, and the launch of Ladder 133's all-new infusion and fresh fruit margarita bar. 133 Douglas Ave, Providence. Meanwhile on the waterfront at the newly minted Whiskey Republic, a Cinco Fiesta will feature Corona buckets, hot shots, a live band, and Corona giveaways. Begins at 9pm, 515 South Water St, Providence, 588-5158.

Special deals

Want an early start? Over at Snookers, they're giving away a Corona Beach Cruiser bicycle, plus the usual celebrating, and it all kicks off at 4pm. 53 Ashburton St, Providence. The Stable also has a Cinco de Mayo celebration in the works, featuring some of the best house sangria in Providence. 125 Washington St, Providence.
