Who says you can't live well on a dime? We say you can, given the fantastic food and drink deals all over the state. Check out the latest batch of cheaps and steals we found for every day and night of the work-week... starting tonight. Just look for the day in question and you're off and running.
Manic Mondays
This is a great day for deals. In Wakefield, Casey's Grill and Bar (191 Old Tower Hill Rd, 789-9714) offers a free buffet from 4-6:30pm, plus dinner and glass of wine for $9.99. In nearby Narragansett, Catarina's Italian Village Restaurant (945 Boston Neck Rd, Narragansett, 789-1725) offers a special that runs all week: a three-course prix-fixe dinner for $18.95. In Providence, you can't go wrong with a fiesta-sized three-course Mexican meal for $19.95 at Don Jose Tequila's (351 Atwells Ave, 454-8951). And who doesn't love a $5 martini, particularly when drinking it at the hip, playful Christie's (right, 351 Thames St, Newport, 846-8018)?
Terrific Tuesdays
At Ardeo (1 Union Station, Providence), the top deal has to be two pizzas for the price of one, all day (although the every-day half-priced apps from 4-7 is a sweet deal as well). Make this Sangria night at 3 Gringos' Cantina in Providence (166 Broadway, 831-1183), where $5 gets you a pint of the season's hottest drink, and $18 buys a pitcher (and don't tell, but this great deal is good all week). Keeping on the Mexican theme, head across to Ladder 133 Bar & Grill (133 Douglas Ave, Providence, 272-7427) to take advantage of TNT Tuesdays: 2 Tacos for $2. In East Greenwich, Meritage (5454 Post Rd, 884-1255) features half-priced apps before 6pm and after 9:30pm, but the coolest offer may be a $20 tarot card reading. Finally Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Winebar in Providence (One

Wild Wednesdays
Even though summer's winding down, there's nothing like a lobster special, and Cowesett Inn (226 Cowesett Ave, West Warwick, 828-4726) has just the special: lobster dinner for $9.95 (yes, they're an advertiser, but that's still a sweet deal). In Matunuck, Wednesday night is Wings Night at Ocean Mist (895 Matunuck Beach Rd, 782-3740), where just $2 gets a basket of jumbo wings. Need some mid-week carbo-loading? Pearl Restaurant & Lounge (393 Charles St, Providence, 331-3000) puts out all the pasta you can eat for $20 (not to mention all you can eat sushi for $20 on Tuesdays).
Thrifty Thursdays
You have to love something for nothing... if you're a margarita drinker that is. Luxe Burger Bar (5 Memorial Blvd, Providence, 621-5893) will give you a free pork taquito with every margarita you order (we also like the Tuesday special of a bottomless soda with a burger). In Newport, The Barking Crab (151 Swinburne Row, 846-2722) offers well drinks for just $4 on Thursdays. Meanwhile, the legendary Mews Tavern (456 Main St, South Kingstown, 783-9370) puts two burgers out for the price of one. And shrimp lovers will want to set up shop every Thursday at River Falls Restaurant in Woonsocket (74 South Main St, 235-9026) for the $12.99 all-you-can-eat shrimp special.
Fantastic Fridays
As the weekend kicks into gear it gets harder to find the good deals. Check out Shula's 347 Grill (21 Atwells Ave, Providence, 709-0347) for $5 martini specials and apps for $3.47 from 5-7pm. Across town, Union Station Brewery (36 Exchange Terrace, Providence, 274-2739) puts out a sweet $2.99 mini-appetizer from 3-7pm and 11pm-12:30am.
