Webster Bank Adds Three Top Bankers in RI

The battle for banking leadership got a bit more interesting as Webster Bank added three pros. Each of the new senior additions had ties to Bank of America.
Here is who joined the mix:
David Neil, SVP, Middle Market: David, a resident of Providence, joins Webster as senior vice president, middle market banking. He had been employed by Bank of America/Fleet Financial since 1996, and had served as senior client manager, senior vice president of middle market banking since 2001. David, a native of Pawtucket, is a graduate of The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Virginia C. Roberts, SVP, Credit Executive: Virginia, a resident of Rumford, R.I., joins Webster as senior vice president, credit executive. Prior to joining Webster, she had a 30-year career in credit and commercial lending with the former Fleet Bank and its successor, Bank of America. She also served as a consultant with Harvest Earnings and as chief operating officer for the International Institute of Boston, Inc., where she helped raise funds for the organization’s microenterprise program. She is a trustee and board vice-chair for Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island and a member of the bishop’s finance council for the Diocese of Providence. She holds an M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo.
Mariana Sequeira, SVP, Senior Private Banker: Mariana, a resident of Bristol, R.I., joins Webster Financial Advisors as senior vice president, senior private banker. Prior to joining Webster, she had a 35-year career with U.S. Trust/Bank of America, most recently as senior vice president/private client manager. She holds Series 7 and 66 Securities Brokerage licenses and the Insurance Producer license. A graduate of Providence College, she also holds Certified Trust & Financial Advisor designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers and Asset Management Specialist Certification from the College of Financial Planning in Colorado. Mariana has served on numerous Rhode Island community boards and committees, including St. Mary’s Academy – Bay View and the Providence College Fundraising Campaign.
