Senator Jack Reed recently announced that US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel will join him and other Congressional, Pentagon, and defense industry leaders in Newport, RI this summer for a major forum that focuses on the future of innovation and technology in the defense arena.

The forum – Defense Innovation Days – is hosted by the Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance (SENEDIA). The event will be one of the first of its kind in the region to bring policymakers and industry representatives together to discuss new trends in the defense industry.

“We are delighted that Senator Reed has invited Secretary Hagel to join us for this unique event,” said Molly Donohue Magee, Executive Director of SENEDIA. “This will be an incredible opportunity for the defense industry players in this region to hear directly from Secretary Hagel about our changing defense priorities, and for him to learn more about the significant role the region plays in this arena.”
