U.S. Unemployment Rate: See Where RI Ranks

Over the last year, the unemployment rate in Rhode Island has dropped more than 2% from 8.4% in February 2014 to 6.3% last month. GoLocalProv and FindtheBest have put together a graph below that shows the unemployment rate dropping while jobs have increased exponentially.

Rhode Island has a seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 6.3% for March, which is 0.1 points lower than its 6.40% rate one month prior and 0.8974 points higher than its 2015 average of 5.40%. In the past month, Rhode Island has added 2,401 employed workers, and over the last year, this state has added 7,725 employed workers.

The unemployment rate is based on a monthly sample of households and the job estimates are taken from a monthly sample survey of employers.
