Pulitzer Prize Winner, Angwin, to Give Lecture at URI

Pulitzer Prize winner Julia Angwin will speak on the University of Rhode Island campus on Tuesday, November 18th at 7:30 p.m. in a lecture that is titled "Is Privacy Becoming a Luxury Good?"
Angwin, a senior reporter for the independent news organization ProPublica and a former staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal will discuss her own efforts to protect her privacy at the URI Honors Colloquium.
Angwin will also raise questions about how much surveillance we should be subjected to in a society.

Angwin also led a team of reporters in another Pulitzer Prize finalist piece on online privacy in 2012.
Angwin also authored "Dragnet Nation: A Quest for Privacy, Security and Freedom in a World of Relentless Surveillance" and "Stealing MySpace: The Battle to Control the Most Popular Website in America".
The Lecture will be held in Edwards Hall on 64 Upper College Road.
