video: One RI Company on Best Retail Brands in US List

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

Global branding agency Interbrand annually ranks the top 50 retail brands. One Rhode Island-based company scored a top position.

CVS scored the #5 position in the U.S. just behind Amazon.com and just ahead of Coach. Walmart finished as the top ranked brand in the U.S.

About the Woonsocket-based company which is homegrown in Rhode Island, Interbrand writes, "Toward its goal of reinventing pharmacy for better health, CVS/pharmacy defines its brand as “healthcare expertise.”

All of the companies are scored on three key aspects that contribute to the assessment:

The financial performance of the branded products or services.
The role of brand in the purchase decision process.
The strength of the brand.

The British accent makes the video presentation oh, so cogent, doesn't it. Yes multi-national corporations will save us by moving all our money out of the local economy.

Branding! "Brands have power to change the world! for us brands are living business assets brought to life across all touch points . . ."

This is totally disgusting. George Orwell lives. CVS??????? How much is it costing us to keep them here? When will they be picking up all our marbles and moving them elsewhere.

How do you people at GoLocal sleep at night?
