Seven Swords Media, which was recently ranked by Inc. magazine as the 386th fastest growing, privately-held company in the United States, received its award at the Inc. 500|5000 Conference & Awards Ceremony that took place in Washington, D.C. on October 10-12.

The top-500 spot is a first for a Rhode Island-based full service advertising and marketing agency.  In addition, Seven Swords ranked third among Rhode Island companies for revenue growth over the past three years

“We are truly honored to be recognized with this distinction and were excited to be among the brightest entrepreneurs and biggest players in business at last week’s event,” said Antonio Lopes, CEO of Seven Swords Media. “Being considered as one of the top performing companies in America is indicative of the unwavering commitment we have made to our clients and expanding team, and this accomplishment will certainly motivate us to keep striving for excellence.”

Seven Swords Media, as well as other companies selected for the Inc. 500 list, are featured in the September 2013 issue of Inc. magazine, available on newsstands until November 20.

Rapid Growth, Diverse Portfolio

Over the past year alone, Seven Swords Media has experienced tremendous growth in capacity, both organically and through the acquisition of a video production agency and an events planning company. In addition to being the agency of record for its parent company, Alex and Ani, Seven Swords Media has a burgeoning and diverse portfolio that includes internationally-renown Smithsonian Institution and Rhode Island School of Design.

“When it comes to ad spending, our success has a positive trickle-down effect to our clients that equates to efficiencies from increased purchasing power, which is attributed to our overall buying leverage,” said Michael Mota, Seven Swords Media VP of Business Development.

Furthermore, the nature of its business generates benefits that are felt on a larger scale, explains Mota. “As a result, our clients can do more with their dollars and drive economic activity in the community,” he added. “Our clients’ savings from ad spending can be reinvested right back into their businesses, leading to new jobs, which in-turn contributes to overall economic growth.”

Inc. Recognition

The Inc. 500|5000 is an annual list that ranks companies according to percentage revenue growth over the previous three years. During this timeframe, Seven Swords Media experienced a 1,156% growth in revenue, earning placement among the top tier companies in the country in its first year of eligibility for the ranking.

Seven Swords Media is driven by positive energy, confidence, and belief in the creative spirit, a mindset that—according to Dan Mercer, Seven Swords Media VP of Operations—has influenced the vision and opportunities the company has pursued and is undeniably attributable to its success.

“Behind our company is an intersection of talent,” said Mercer, who adds that Seven Swords Media plans to increase its workforce to 40 employees by the end of 2013. “The individuals that comprise our executive, creative, sales, and administrative teams are uniquely qualified to position Seven Swords Media as a repeat contender on the Inc. 500 list.”
