NEW: Providence Journal’s Web Site Down Since Monday

Rhode Islanders trying to check the Providence Journal online since yesterday afternoon have been hitting a wall. And the A.H. Belo newspaper's paywall isn't even live yet.
Despite a post titled "Providence Journal Back in Business" placed by the Journal's New Media managing editor, Peter Phipps, yesterday at 2:26 pm and updated at 7:14pm, the site continues to be unresponsive to links and direct requests to load at either www.projo.com or www.providencejournal.com. The post said, yesterday:

The site is now back up and running, although some users may still experience sporadic issues.
Our 7to7 breaking news blog, other blogs and mobile feeds continue to operate as usual.

Meanwhile, with the site still unreachable, Facebook newsfeeds are filling with RIers looking for answers from each other on what the deal is... but nothing is forthcoming. Yet.
