NEW: Nonprofit Disclosure Deadline Is Saturday Night
Friday, July 29, 2011
Nonprofits all around Rhode Island have until Saturday evening to disclose information to the state before receiving penalties, which include fines and revocations of authority certificates, according to a message from Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis.
Mollis reminded the public about the July 30th deadline and encouraged nonprofits to beat the deadline by filing online at sos.ri.gov. "We have made complying with the law as easy as possible and are doing all that we can to make them aware of the deadline,” Mollis stated.
“Enhancing our technology makes it easier to do business with us. Our virtual office is open 24/7, so nonprofits can file when it is convenient for them,” said Mollis. "The online option also lowers our costs and gives the public access to the reports faster."

That can mean peace of mind for the people and organizations considering doing business with them.”
Nonprofits can file online at http://ucc.state.ri.us/loginsystem/login_form.asp as late as 11:59 pm on Saturday, July 30. If filing by mail the report must be submitted in person to the Secretary of State’s Division of Business Services by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 29.
