Washington Trust's Commercial Real Estate Group is providing more than $8.3 million in financing to Medical Asset Ventures, LLC for the construction of a 45,000 square foot medical office building on South County Trail in East Greenwich, R.I. The tenant to the new facility will be Lifespan.

"The current trend in healthcare is for medical practices to open facilities that are off the hospital campus, but still convenient for their patients," said Joseph J. MarcAurele, Washington Trust Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. "Medical Asset Ventures has had proven success in developing these types of projects."

The office space will be used for primary and cardiac care for the healthcare group.
