It looks like this state needs renaming! Rhode Island would be Hasbro in Lovelace's Corporate States of America.

If each state in the US were to be represented as one corporation or brand, Hasbro, Inc. would be the best pick for Rhode Island, according to “The Corporate States of America” map created by Steve Lovelace.

In this map, Lovelace selected a corporation or brand that best represented each state. The brand is based in that state and is still in business as of 2012. The map was inspired by Lovelace’s hypothesis that the power of nation states will significantly diminish as corporations and non-governmental organizations gain more power.

Hasbro, Inc. is an American multinational toy, board game, and action figure company, and is one of the largest toy makers in the world. Established as the Hassenfeld Brothers company that sold textile remnants in Providence during the early 1900s, the company’s corporate headquarters is now located in Pawtucket. Some of its famous toy lines are G.I. Joe, Sesame Street, Jurassic Park, and Transformers, along with board games such as Battleship, Candy Land, Pictionary, and Scrabble. In more recent news, Hasbro will be the producer of Marvel Comics toys until at least 2017.
