NEW: Corner Bakery Café Looks to Hire 50 Employees in Rhode Island

Corner Bakery Café is teaming up with the RI Department of Labor and Training's Business Workforce Center to recruit up to 50 employees for two new locations in Warwick and Cranston. A recruitment event is scheduled for Thursday, October 17 from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm at the West Warwick netWORKri Career Center on 1330 Main Street in West Warwick.
Corner Bakery Café, a restaurant chain that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers catering services, is expanding to the New England area and plans to open cafés on Universal Blvd. in Warwick and in Garden City Shopping Center in Cranston. The company is looking to hire multiple positions including general managers, assistant managers, hourly managers, shift supervisors, customer service assistants, cooks, caterers, bakers, cashiers, bus people and dishwashers. A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of food or customer service experience are preferred.
The Business Workforce Center at the RI Department of Labor and Training is assisting the company with its recruitment efforts. The Business Workforce Center offers free services for employers in the areas of job-matching, recruitment, training and transition assistance, and maintains a walk-in center at the department's administrative offices at 1511 Pontiac Ave., Cranston.
