Andy Gresh, the longtime sports radio talk show host in Rhode Island, is out at WPRO. For the past few years, he has hosted a sports talk radio show on weekday nights.“I am leaving WPRO. Friday will be my last day,” said Gresh.

“Basically, we have a business disagreement,” said Gresh of the departure.

According to multiple sources, a nationally syndicated show will be broadcast from 7 pm to 9 pm and for one hour each night, former Providence Journal sports reporter Kevin McNamara will host a one hour show.

In December, long-time Rhode Island TV and radio presence Ron St. Pierre lost his gig as the host of WHJJ’s morning drive slot. Instead, the station is piping in a host located in western Massachusetts -- Jim Polito.

Polito already broadcasts to a number of iHeart stations — the parent company of WHJJ.

St. Pierre declined to comment on the change at the station.

The buyouts, outsourcing and move away from locally hosted radio to syndicated are another blow to local media.

Providence Business News announced that is cutting publishing its weekly to just twice per week.
