NEW: Landmark Bidders Weigh In

A Wednesday deadline brought multiple bidders for Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, a spokesperson for court-appointed special master Jonathan Savage said Thursday.
“I am pleased to report we have received multiple bids from various parties to purchase Landmark Medical Center and the Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island,” Bill Fischer, Savage’s spokesperson said in a statement. “This has been a very busy period and the special master is still continuing to review the bids.”
Fischer said he could not confirm the number of bids or who placed them, but said more details would follow in the comings weeks.

However, this is clearly great news for the employees of both Landmark and the rehab hospital as well as the future operations of both facilities,” Fischer said.
Savage is expected to make a recommendation to Judge Michael A. Silverstein, who will hold a hearing and could approve a bid as early as next week.
