Channel 10 has just announced that long-time President and General Manager Lisa Churchville will retire effective June 30.

It’s not clear yet as to why Churchville is stepping down after a long career at WJAR or what she will be doing next. “Today, due to the hard work and commitment of so many people, the station is stronger than ever. The continuous newsroom produces five hours of live news and breaks news throughout the day on multiple digital platforms. NBC 10 serves a broader audience than ever before and the station is well-poised for the future. I am very proud to have played a role in the station's rich history."

Churchville has led the station for over 14-years and has been at the helm for some major changes at the station. The passing of Doug White was on her watch and she recently was involved with the station’s switch to HD and also the unveiling of their new set.

Under Churchville, the station has led the ratings on a consistent basis and she helped push the introduction of the 7pm news on Channel 10 which also has been a ratings hit for the station.

Media General's executive vice president and chief operating officer, Reid Ashe, said, "It's been a real pleasure to work with Lisa Churchville these last few years. She's an accomplished professional and an inspiring leader, both in her station and in her community. She's an important reason for WJAR's long-term leadership in the Rhode Island market. We will miss her and we wish her all the best,"

It is not known who will assume the GM duties for now while the search for a replacement gets underway.
